Praetorian Marketing are pleased to hear that Chingford born Jonathan Ive, the man once described as the late Steve Jobs’ ‘Spiritual partner’ has been awarded a knighthood.
Praetorian Marketing recognised several famous faces alongside Jonathan Ive in the New Years honours. Names included entertainer Ronnie Corbett, actress Helena Bonham Carter, former formula one champion Nigel Mansell and TV personality Lorraine Kelly, who won an award for her services to charities and the armed forces. Praetorian Marketing has always been a fan of Apple and their services to technology so were particularly pleased to see that Jonathan Ive had been awarded a knighthood for his work.
Mr Ive, of the Apple design team, worked closely with the late Steve Jobs who passed away last year. They worked together to help create some of the most exciting and innovative products that dominate the market today, combining Ive’s skill for design and Job’s innovative touches. He has been with Apple for almost twenty years, joining the company in 1992. Before then Jonathan was the co-founder of a design agency aptly named ‘Tangerine’, who counted Apple amongst their clients. Apple snapped up Jonathan to work for them full time in direct reaction to a project he had worked on for them while with Tangerine. When Steve Jobs returned in 1995, the pair began working together and Apple started to see their popularity increase, which has gone from strength to strength ever since.
A spokesperson for Praetorian Marketing commented:
‘Not only is this fantastic news for Jonathan Ive, but also brilliant news for Apple as they continue to be recognised for their work going into 2012. Following the death of Steve Jobs last year, many questioned what the future held for the company. The knighthood just goes to show that there are still strong forces hard at work at Apple with the ability to continue to design and create revolutionary products for the future generations. At Praetorian Marketing we believe that you must train others in order to be able to replace and replicate success achieved by a particular individual and create a strong long lasting company. Using this strategy is what allowed for the successful opening of our second office in Coventry last year, and we will continue to expand using the same tried and trusted method. Although undoubtedly Steve Jobs was a highly talented and innovative individual, following his death we are now able to see new talent emerge and other talents recognised. These are exciting times for technology and it’s nice to see that Apple continues to gain recognition for their successes’.
Praetorian Marketing extend their congratulations to Apple and Jonathan Ive on the achievement and look forward to a successful 2012.
