Praetorian Marketing Year-End Review: 2011 a Successful Year.

Praetorian Marketing has had a fantastic year and would like to wish everyone a very Happy New Year going into 2012.

In 2011 Praetorian Marketing branched out, opening a brand new office in Coventry city centre, set to be the first of many expansions planned for the successful marketing company. With action underway for at least two new offices to be opened in the UK, Praetorian Marketing is set to go from strength to strength in the New Year.

A spokesperson for Praetorian Marketing gave this statement:

‘As a company we here at Praetorian marketing have had a fantastic year in 2011. Successfully opening the new office in Coventry was a hugely positive step for Praetorian and was the first step of many in our plans to expand across the UK. By implementing the same high standards and quality used in the Birmingham office, Praetorian Marketing were able to replicate and enjoy the same success in Coventry in 2011.  We’re very proud of what we’ve achieved this year and 2012 is set to be even bigger and better in terms of business, growth and expansion. In the New Year we will be looking to perhaps add new companies to our client repertoire as with new offices planned we will have the facilities to work with and represent new clients.’

Praetorian Marketing is an Outsource Sales and Marketing company, which at present has offices situated in both Birmingham and Coventry. Praetorian Marketing specialises in client representation, working with blue chip clients including well-known telecoms and broadband providers, media suppliers and non-profit charity organisations. Clients are represented with campaigns chosen and tailored specifically to match their particular needs, which can include direct face-to-face advertising, in store promotions and event management. This is to ensure clients are provided with the most effective and efficient service available for their specific product or service.

It’s safe to say that Praetorian Marketing have had a productive and positive year, which is particularly exciting in times when the news is dominated by recession and economic crisis. For the company it’s now full steam ahead for the New Year and it looks as though Praetorian Marketing is set for an even brighter 2012.

Praetorian Marketing Reviews: First, Break All the Rules

Praetorian Marketing has always shown a key interest in self-improvement and it there is one think we love to do it’s read and review business books.

The latest book on our nightstands isn’t a new release but that doesn’t stop it from teaching the business community some great lessons. Praetorian Marketing, a marketing and direct sales company based in Birmingham offers you a review of one of the best-kept secrets amongst managers.

‘First, Break All the Rules: What the World’s Greatest Managers Do Differently,’ is written by Marcus Buckingham and Curt Coffman, both are business owners and they discuss the pitfalls of standard management thinking  and what excellent managers do to keep their team happy.

It was the longevity of the book that led Praetorian Marketing to review it. Published in 1999 it has lasted the test of time and has a great deal to offer twelve years down the line. What Praetorian Marketing enjoyed the most is that many of the management practices that pop up in management blogs and websites are really just myths based on no real evidence. This book certainly has enough evidence. The book gets its resources from a series of 80,000 interviews with managers conducted by the Gallup Organization over a period of 25 years.

Some of the practices recommended in the book are things that we all know deep down but are sometimes forgotten. The importance of treating every person you work with as an individual and focusing on strengths and talents rather than trying to fix a weakness. The reason that they are recommended in this book is because they work.

The key idea detail that jumped out at Praetorian Marketing was that the best managers know that they are on stage everyday. They know that people are watching every move they make. In the same way that a manager might find people raise their game when they know they’re being watched, the manager should behave in the same way. The difference is… a leader is always being watched and should always raise their game.

Praetorian Marketing was lucky enough to secure tickets to watch the first part of the X Factor final live from Wembley arena!

Praetorian Marketing was amongst 10,000 excited X Factor fans in the audience at Wembley Arena on Saturday evening to watch Amelia Lily, Little Mix and Marcus Collins compete for the X Factor crown!

The acts performed two songs on Saturday night, one of which saw the acts perform with their mentors, Marcus with Gary Barlow, Little Mix and Tulisa and finally Amelia Lily with her mentor Kelly Rowland. As usual X Factor didn't disappoint on the celebrity guest front with Michael Buble, 2006 X Factor winner and worldwide phenomenon Leona Lewis and a joint performance from JLS and One Direction, both of whom found fame as former contestants.

Unfortunately only two acts would make it through to Sundays final show and sadly Saturday proved to be the end of the road for 17 year old Amelia Lily. On the first show Amelia Lily was voted out of the competition by judge Kelly Rowland in a twist which saw each act vote off one of their own, only to later be voted back in by the public following the swift removal of contestant Frankie Cocozza following a drugs scandal.

Praetorian Marketing had a great time at Wembley Arena and a spokesperson for the successful marketing company commented,

'Being invited to attend the X Factor final is amazing in itself, and with it being held at Wembley Arena the atmosphere was absolutely incredible. After attending the live auditions in Birmingham we have been lucky enough to follow the 2011 X Factor from the very beginning and as big X Factor fans it's been a truly fantastic experience for all involved, good luck to Little Mix and Marcus in the second part of the finals'.

Praetorian Marketing also extend their best wishes to Amelia Lily, who promised 'This isn't the last of Amelia Lily!' Who knows what the future holds for this years’ X Factor contestants, There has been some fantastic talent and whatever happens there's no doubt Praetorian Marketing will be watching!

Praetorian Marketing on the young and unemployed in Britain.

Praetorian Marketing has been looking into the current state of employment amongst young people in the UK following news that unemployment levels have reached an all time high, with 1.02 million 16-24 year olds left out of work.

As figures of youth unemployment hit a record high in Britain, Praetorian Marketing investigates why so many young people are out of employment. With the current financial climate it would be easy enough to blame the low number of young people unemployed solely on credit crunch Britain. However as cuts made in the education sector coincide with a time when more then one million of Britain’s young people are unemployed, Praetorian Marketing delve deeper into the issue to find out exactly what is going wrong.

Praetorian Marketing has gone from strength to strength in a time of financial crisis, recently expanding with a second office opening in Coventry city centre. A spokesperson for Praetorian Marketing commented,

‘Praetorian Marketing has been fortunate in a time of financial crisis, operating in a market that remains almost entirely untouched by the credit crunch. However, that hasn’t left us out of touch with the difficulties youths are facing finding employment. At Praetorian Marketing we are encouraged by news that work experience is going to be offered to all youths who are out of employment.’

The government scheme will look to get young people into a work environment where they can gain valuable experience. An often heard complaint is that young people can’t find a job because they don’t have the relevant experience but they also can’t get that experience. This scheme will look to remedy the problem.

‘At Praetorian Marketing we also expect to see young people taking less tradition routes into work, perhaps joining family businesses or even setting up businesses of their own. The government looks set to encourage banks to provide people with small business loans in an attempt to kick start the economy.’

With the Euro Crisis also at the forefront of peoples minds there is no doubt that the next couple of months are going to be particularly tough for the whole of Britain. Praetorian Marketing will be interested to see what plans the government makes or whether young people will decide to take their career path into their own hands.

Praetorian Marketing investigates – A lonely Christmas for the high street this year?

Praetorian Marketing understands that the pressure is mounting on high street stores to draw in customers for the Christmas shopping season. With more and more alternative options to shop becoming available, it seems many customers are shunning the high street for more convenient options.

Praetorian Marketing is situated in Birmingham City Centre, home to one of Britain’s largest shopping venues, The Bull Ring. Being in the centre it’s hard to imagine that the high street is suffering, the streets filled with customers clutching bags and bags of shopping. However Monday 28th November this year was set to be the busiest day for internet shopping in the running to Christmas, with many people simply ordering gifts from their desk at work. With advancements in technology, many people will also be doing their Christmas shopping on the move using their mobile phones, adding smart phones to the competition.

‘The general consensus amongst the people that I have spoken to is that it is just more convenient to shop online these days, many people stating the weather, time constraints, waiting for the checkouts and of course just the overall ease of clicking the mouse and knowing that their shopping is on its way makes online shopping preferable’ said a Praetorian Marketing spokesperson.

‘Given the option, people would prefer to shop from the comfort of their own homes, as it saves time, effort and can work out to be more cost effective in terms of transport and parking etc. The only main downfall to online shopping is the fact that information about the product may be limited, however with stores being increasingly under staffed, this is also a problem customers may find with the high street, and in the rush of Christmas there simply aren’t enough sales advisors to go around’.

The Spokesperson continued,

‘Praetorian Marketing specialise in outsourcing, which some may say takes the best aspects from both worlds, which is why we have achieved such high levels of success for our clients. Not only do we take the product directly to the customer, we are also able to deliver a fantastic level of customer service, complete with full product knowledge to go with it’.

Praetorian Marketing Birmingham Takes Inspiration From The World's Top Businesswomen.

Praetorian Marketing, a marketing and sales company providing client solutions in the West Midlands, celebrates the incredible female talent that is steering their institutions through some of the most difficult times in recent history.

Diana Chan, Chief executive of EuroCCP, came from humble beginnings. At the age of two, Chan left communist China on a fishing boat with her grandmother in hope of a better life in Hong Kong. After graduating she headed straight into the world of finance, working first at JP Morgan and then Citigroup. She had led EuroCCP from a start up in 2007 to one of the preferred clearing houses of major banks and trading venues. A spokesperson for Praetorian Marketing comments 'Diana's story really struck a cord with some of our office who love her entrepreneurial spirit given her difficult start in life."

Suzanne Cain is the Head of Institutional Credit Sales at Deutsche Bank. She was drawn into the sales field at the start of her career and has never left. "Since Praetorian Marketing is heavily involved in sales for our clients we follow the female trail-blazers in the field very closely." Suzanne previously worked in a similar role at Morgan Stanley where she was responsible for distribution in both Europe and the US.

Ruth Fox has been something of a pioneer in the legal world. She became Slaughter and May's first female partner in 1986 and is now one of the few female members on the Bank of England's Financial Markets Law Committee. "Law has traditionally been a very male dominate institution, at Praetorian Marketing we really celebrate those women who broke through the glass ceiling 25 years ago for other women to follow."

"At Praetorian Marketing we are always looking out for great business people to watch and learn from. It is inspiring to read what these incredibly talented women are doing and we will take just as much from the new generation of businesswomen and entrepreneurs that are starting out on the early stages of their careers today."

Praetorian Marketing gets into the spirit of Christmas with the help of a very well loved brand!

With Christmas just around the corner, Praetorian Marketing has been looking into the success of advertising strategies used by some of the world’s best loved brands in the run up to Christmas.

Praetorian Marketing is situated in the heart of bustling Birmingham City Centre, making it virtually impossible to avoid all things Christmas! With the annual German Christmas market in full swing and shops everywhere playing Christmas songs, filled to the doorways with festive promotions, Praetorian Marketing are embracing Christmas with the best of them.

Praetorian Marketing amongst many others will be decorating the office and taking part in festivities to honour the occasion. Images of Christmas trees, reindeers, angels and elves will grace homes, offices, shop windows, restaurants and TV screens but it simply would not be Christmas without the portly man with the white beard and the red suit. Santa Claus (also known as St Nick or Father Christmas) is a figure globally associated with Christmas, but the appearance of the famous character we’ve become used to over the last few decades can actually be partly credited to the world’s most famous brand, Coca Cola.

In 2006 Coca Cola celebrated 75 years of their use of Santa Claus, first created by artist Haddon Sundblom in 1931. Prior to this Santa Claus had been depicted in many shapes and sizes and many believe that Sundblom drew Santa in a red coat as it was the trademark colour for Coca Cola. Praetorian Marketing understands that the campaign was initially launched to dispel thoughts that Coca Cola was a drink for summer and with clever usage of Santa and slogans such as ‘Thirst knows no season’ the brand successfully put their message across, helping them become one of the most popular brands worldwide today.

A spokesperson for Praetorian Marketing has said,

‘I don’t know anyone who doesn’t know the Coca Cola advert; it’s become almost symbolic in the sense that you know it’s nearly Christmas when it comes on. The fact that a brand can successfully mould the public image of a traditional character simply proves the power that Coca Cola has and has cemented their status as the world’s best loved brand. The ability to build such a strong association with Christmas has proved to be a remarkable marketing strategy for Coca Cola and something they can and will rely on for many years to come’.
